FREDERICK ALLEN GALE Suddenly on December 16, 2006, Frederick Allen Gale of Toronto, ON passed away at the age of 76 years. Fred was born in Transcona on October 14, 1930, the last of 12 children. He is survived by brother William; and sisters, Dorothy (Nault), Irene (Marriott), and Nellie (Cranstone). He was predeceased by his parents, Edmund and Elizabeth; brothers, Edmund, Robert, and Berkley; and sisters, Lillian, Ethel (Heron), Phyllis (Fazackerley), and Kathleen (Myron/ Tyler). Fred had various jobs before he settled in with the Toronto Transit Commission in 1977, working in the Operations Department until his retirement in 1998. His many interests included travelling, art, music, horses, dogs, cooking, and reading. Fred was extensively self-educated in these areas and also had spent a great deal of time researching the Gale family history. He loved to share stories with family and dear friends and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place. As per Fred's wishes, he will be laid to rest at the Beechwood National Cemetery in Ottawa at a later date. A celebration of Fred's life will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Wheeler's Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Avenue at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Fred's honour to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
